Winding through the heart of southeastern Sicily, the Cerasuolo di Vittoria Wine Route is a diverse and fascinating journey – divided into three scenic sections – spanning the provinces of Ragusa (the core), Caltanissetta and Catania.
This area is bordered by the Erei Mountains to the north, the Mediterranean Sea to the south, the Iblei Mountains to the east, and the rolling hills of Caltanissetta to the west. The route connects Unesco-listed Baroque towns with the refined Liberty-style architecture of Vittoria, extending all the way to the coast.
A Docg Wine Born from Tradition and Territory
Uniting the region is one iconic wine: Cerasuolo di Vittoria, Sicily’s only Docg wine. Produced with native Nero d’Avola (50–70%) and Frappato (50–30%) grapes, it follows a strict set of production rules that reflect deep respect for tradition and terroir.

But traveling along the Cerasuolo di Vittoria Wine Route isn’t just about discovering a great wine: it’s an immersive journey through unforgettable food and wine experiences, unveiling a land rich in history, art, culture and natural beauty. Along the way, visitors can explore towns such as Caltanissetta, Butera, Gela, Mazzarino, Niscemi, Piazza Armerina and Riesi in the Caltanissetta province; Caltagirone, Licodia Eubea, Mazzarrone and Militello in Val di Catania in the province of Catania; and Acate, Chiaramonte Gulfi, Comiso, Donnafugata, Ispica, Modica, Ragusa Ibla, Santa Croce Camerina, Scicli and, of course, Vittoria in the province of Ragusa. Each destination adds a new flavor and story to this unforgettable route.
