Cantine Settesoli is a cooperative of 2000 members whose annual production boasts the widest variety of grape cultivars in Sicily – over 35 varieties across 6000 hectares of vineyards, representing 7% of the island’s total vineyard area. Of these, more than 1000 hectares are certified organic, tended by 141 organic growers. Each year, the cooperative produces around 20 million bottles, with exports accounting for 51% of bottled wine revenue, reaching over 44 countries. This dynamic cooperative brings together thousands of families across the Terre Sicane District, creating a significant impact on the local economy and community.
From this perspective, the Cantine Settesoli corporate logo embodies the values of community, unity and cooperation, along with growth, energy, nature and sustainability. Warm and evocative, the logo complements the tagline, “Cantine Settesoli – Sicilian Winemakers since 1958”, celebrating both tradition and a commitment to a sustainable future.

A Model of Ethical Winemaking and Community Impact
Cantine Settesoli not only produces wines with a strong local identity, including both conventional and certified organic options, but also represents an ethical model of cooperative winemaking that’s central to the local economy and community. The winery produces indigenous varietals like Grecanico, Grillo and Nero d’Avola, as well as internationally varietals like Merlot, Syrah and Chardonnay, which have become classics in Sicily. Over the years, the cooperative has fostered a thriving circular economy, perfectly integrating local industries with its winemaking practices and fueling regional tourism development.

Empowering Growers with Expertise and Support
Cantine Settesoli’s mission is to ensure the growth and success of each member grower and their vineyards, providing guidance on every decision through strict protocols that respect both individuality and autonomy. The cooperative offers vital resources to help plan, produce, launch and distribute their wines through carefully selected channels.
A dedicated team of agronomists supports the growers year-round, advising on everything from selecting varietals and choosing optimal clones for each terroir to vineyard installation, training and pruning techniques. The cooperative also assists with soil management, pest and disease control, and coordinates the harvest, guiding members in selecting the best techniques for picking and processing grapes. This hands-on support system helps elevate both the quality and sustainability of every vineyard within the Settesoli community.
«The agronomic team establishes protocols and assesses environmental impact»
A Strict Protocol
Each of these activities follows a strict protocol established by Cantine Settesoli’s head agronomist, leaving no aspect to individual discretion. Growers are required to adhere to this protocol to achieve high-quality production standards, while the agronomist also monitors the environmental impact of all farming practices.
In 2021, this commitment to sustainable viticulture was recognized when the SOStain Sicilia Foundation (promoted by the Consorzio di Tutela Vini Doc Sicilia and the Associazione Vitivinicoltori della Sicilia-Assovini Sicilia) awarded Cantine Settesoli sustainability certification for a line of organic products.

Global Brands and Customized Labels
Cantine Settesoli produces and markets three global brands and numerous smaller labels.
The Settesoli line (www.settesoli.it) offers an extensive range of affordable wines -whites, reds, rosés and sparkling varieties. The selection features both native and international grapes, available as single varietals and blends, including organic and vegan options.
Mandrarossa (https://www.mywonderfulsicily.com/mandrarossa-menfi-agrigento/), launched in 1999, is a brand rooted in Sicilian biodiversity. Born from a study identifying ideal pairings between grape varieties and terroir, Mandrarossa embodies the region’s unique environments, allowing each grape variety to reach its full potential. After years of soil mapping, ongoing research guides the brand, continuously monitoring grape performance and implementing microvinification techniques, leading to an evolving range of new wines.
