Must Try

Located 5 km south of Sortino, where the ancient city of Hybla once stood (mid-XIII century BC), Pantalica is the most striking and important rupestrian necropolis in Sicily. Spanning 80 hectares, it boasts around 5000 artificial cave tombs from the Bronze and Iron Ages, varying in shape and size, carved into rocky cliffs amidst a breathtaking natural landscape. At the highest hill, visitors can find the remnants of the Anaktoron, or Prince’s Palace, constructed from large polygonal blocks.
